GrowthX - UX Assignment Breakdown
Designing a training companion that helps endurance athletes plan, train, and stay on track.
On 28 May 2025, I spent two days designing a mobile training experience for GrowthX as part of a product design interview assignment. You can see the live product at growthx.club.
The brief was to help endurance athletes prepare for everything from their first race to competitive events like Ironman and Ultraman — planning training, tracking progress, staying motivated, and learning along the way.
I started by breaking down the brief, mapping the journey, and figuring out what the experience actually needed before jumping into screens. From there, I moved from rough sketches to high-fidelity designs and shaped the product around more than just workouts: personalised training plans, readiness insights, community, and learning, all in one place.
A big part of the experience was making it feel personal from the start. Instead of giving every athlete the same onboarding, the experience adapts around their goals, fitness level, and the event they're training for.
It was a two-day assignment — and it won me the offer.
